Fanatics Collectibles is looking for an Athlete Partnerships Manager based in New York, who will be a center point between athletes, agencies and Fanatics Collectibles in the procurement of rights and services to support our products. The Athlete Partnerships Manager will work closely with internal resources including Product Development, Operations, Legal, e-Commerce, Athlete Marketing, Content, Events, Customer Service, as well as manage relationships with external agencies. Fanatics Collectibles is a dynamic and fast-paced environment and we are seeking someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the generation, signing, and managing of agreements for athletes across licensed baseball products.
- Foster and maintain relationships with agents, player associations, league licensors, and industry contacts.
- Act as liaison between Fanatics Collectibles and agents/talent for the coordination of athlete signings and activations.
- Work directly with Product Development to create/review product subject lists, provide guidance on talent relations, give cost insights on a per-talent basis, analyze procurement needs and manage operational deadlines.
- Manage and communicate autograph procurement developments and ongoing issues to product development and operation teams on ongoing basis.
- Partner with Athlete Marketing to support key campaigns and activations
- Oversee lifecycle of contracts while monitoring dates of legal significance such as expirations and options.
- Ensure compliance to contractual obligations ensuring all services are executed.
- Responsible for managing the performance of internal direct reports.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in related field (sports agency, sports marketing, athlete management) is a MUST.
- 2+ years of employee management responsibility.
- Self-confident, energetic, pro-active, organized, highly detailed and goal oriented.
- Independent thinker, excellent judgement and professional demeanor.
- Proven track record of generating, negotiating and finalizing deals.
- Works well under pressure, able to meet tight deadlines and thrive in changing circumstances; enjoys a fast-paced environment.
- Team oriented with ability to interact with personnel across the organization.
- Strong passion and comprehensive knowledge of MLB and MiLB a plus.
- Exceptional written and oral communication; proven ability to manage relationships.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Schedule flexibility for travel.
- Bachelor’s degree.
