About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider Manager to lead our team at St Jude Children's Research Hospital in delivering quality patient care. The ideal candidate will oversee staff, contribute to team goals, and provide exceptional patient care. This role involves active participation in patient care, conflict resolution, and facilitation of specialist teams and rounds. The Advanced Practice Provider Manager plays a crucial role in achieving department and institution goals through effective leadership and collaboration. Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision and Management:
Directly supervise and manage assigned staff.
Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching.
Handle scheduling and staffing plans.
Patient Care:
Perform patient care duties based on established standards and protocols.
Conduct physical examinations, order diagnostic studies, and assist in treatment implementation.
Monitor and evaluate patient responses to medical treatment.
Provide patient and family support.
Team Collaboration:
Attend meetings, committees, and contribute to institution-wide discussions.
Oversee patient care assignments and adapt staffing based on fluctuations.
Assist in the hiring process, budget management, and goal setting for the team.
Operational Management:
Create and manage schedules and staffing plans for the assigned department/unit.
Handle admission, discharge, daily encounters, and procedures.
Specialized Teams and Rounds:
Participate in special teams such as Harvey Team, Rapid Response, and Sepsis Huddles.
Facilitate interdisciplinary rounds.
Conflict Resolution:
Manage conflicts among staff, visitors, and others.
Commitment to Goals:
Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the goals of the department and institution.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
State the minimum education and/or training required.
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) or Health Sciences (MHS) with a certification as a Physician Assistant required. Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD (Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing) certified as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
Minimum Experience:
State the minimum years of experience required to do this job successfully.
Two (2) years of Advanced Practice Provider experience required.
Supervisory/mgt. experience preferred.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:
List any licensure or certification REQUIRED and/or PREFERRED by federal or state law to do the job.
If Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN):
(LC: RN-TN, RN-MISS, RN-ARK or RN-KY Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state OR Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state required.(LC: APN-TN) Must possess a current Advanced Practice Nurse License issued by the Tennessee State Board of Nursing.
(LC: ANCC-NP or AA-NP or PNCB) Nurse Practitioner Certification: American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB)
(LC: SUPMD) Supervising Physician: verified by St. Jude Managed Care Department
(LC: CERTFIT-TN) Certificate of Fitness: State of Tennessee - Division of Health-Related Boards
If prescribing medications, then (LC: DEA) DEA certification: U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration
If Physician Assistant (PA):
(LC: NCCPA CERT) Physician Assistant: Certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
(LC: SUPMD) Supervising Physician: verified by St. Jude Managed Care Department
If prescribing medications, then (LC: DEA) DEA certification: U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration as well as an Authorization for Prescribing for Physician Assistants
