The Manager, Accounts Payable is responsible for providing leadership to the Accounts Payable (AP) team and ensuring the AP team supports overall excellence for the Finance function. Oversees the execution of the AP function and supervises the daily operations of the AP team that supports US and Canada market. Leads and establishes priorities for the team to ensure the team's objectives are aligned with the broader company goals. This is a customer service role with multiple internal and external clients. This individual will coordinate the AP team's high volume transactional processes of all critical day-to-day payment processing, vendor inquiries, statement resolution, analysis, and any other activities to ensure the highest quality of service and satisfaction. This position will be responsible for recommending and deploying departmental SOP's and implementations that streamline and improve processes to increase productivity, accuracy, and efficiency within the department.
What You'll Do:
- Administrator and owner of the Invoice, Travel and Expense management systems.
- Ownership and management of the corporate credit card, employee expense reports, and airfare booking processes/systems. Ensures transactions adhere to the company's T E policy, provides support and direction in resolving any issues.
- Manage day-to-day AP operations (PO and Non-PO) including vendor management, invoice coding, payment processing, and vendor statement reconciliations.
- Own and manage the monthly close process for Accounts Payable and related accounts by ensuring accuracy of vendor expense accruals, including AP aging, and goods received not invoiced account/aging.
- Lead the development and implementation of automated Accounts Payable processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and manual tasks. Utilize data analytics to identify trends and anomalies, enabling proactive decision-making and cost saving opportunities.
- Responsible for annual 1099 filings and accuracy and completeness of information maintained for Vendor master file including 1099 reporting requirements.
- Mentors and manages a team of 3 AP accountants, which includes measuring and reporting on the team's performance, hiring, development and performance management of all direct reports.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2-3years in leadership/management roles
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, Internal controls, and basic accounting principles is a must
- Experience working in ERP systems, automated AP workflow platform as well as Concur
- Experience with exception handling and analysis reporting preferred
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Sales and Use tax in relation to invoicing flows
- Must have 1099 filing experience
- Excel Specialist proficient in utilizing Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP for advanced data analysis and reporting. Ability to contribute to wider corporate objectives, working with other senior managers.
Schedule:
- Hybrid - requires onsite presence weekly
The target salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn an annual bonus.
