This role is responsible for researching a wide array of accounting issues and for analyzing existing and new accounting pronouncements, assessing their applicability within Rogers, and developing appropriate policy standards for enterprise-wide application. The position will also involve special projects and possible participation in the performance of financial accounting due diligence procedures related to proposed acquisitions.
Essential Function:
- Direct and/or provide accounting guidance to various organizations within Rogers on complex accounting and financial reporting issues, including contract reviews. Specific guidance could include revenue and cost recognition, financing implications, capitalization, etc. If warranted, develop new accounting policies for Rogers based on the needs of the business.
- Review, develop, and write accounting position papers to support the view of the business based on sound accounting principles. Develop strong arguments in support of the position and persuade external auditors of the merit of the position.
- Monitor and analyze new Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Securities and Exchange Commission accounting and reporting requirements and communicate their potential effects on the business.
- Ensure new pronouncements are properly reflected in all Securities and Exchange Commission filings.
- Direct, review, and coordinate all activities required to develop the disclosures required by the new accounting pronouncements.
- Policy preparation – guide written accounting policies after careful deliberation and system review to ensure adequate guidance and consistent application in areas of responsibility.
- Provide guidance and representation as the subject matter expert for specific policy areas.
- Footnote review – provide counsel in the preparation of external financial statement footnotes and assist in external reporting as necessary.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
- 8+ years’ experience with a large public accounting firm or similar experience in a combination of public and private environments.
- Strong technical accounting, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- The ability to work as a strategic business partner and interact with all levels of management, internal customers, and external auditors to support business objectives.
- Travel Requirement: 25%
