National Grid is seeking a Manager of Reporting and Analytics for our Integrated Planning and Portfolio Management Team in Syracuse, NY.

Job Purpose

To develop and manage a cross functional team responsible for providing analytical and reporting support across the Workplan Development and Resource Management organization.

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Provide analytical and reporting support for WD&RM and its stakeholders including but not limited to: PCM reporting, Estimate to Actuals reporting, Workplan Attainment and Portfolio Development reporting, resourcing trends, workplan variance, ad hoc project financial analytics, work order closeout and system integrity.
  • Develop and maintain databases, systems and reporting tools to provide data driven decision making and enhance the efficiency of WD&RM tasks.
  • Support regulatory and financial reporting including but not limited to: QRF submittals, Corporate Finance variance reporting, CIP filing and reporting.
  • Provide internal and external audit support for BCP, work order lifecycle, regulatory filings etc.
  • Develop team of analysts across a wide array of functional areas and systems to provide best in class analytical support.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy across a multitude of systems including Powerplan, STORMS, Future Now, SAP Etc.
  • Develop department KPI's aligned to strategic priorities to track and improve performance.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as OPEX and CAPEX efficiency, data platform development i.e. Snowflake, digital products i.e. Future Now, GridMD etc.
  • Take part in the development and maintenance of organizational process documentation, organizational/system job aide repository, new employee onboarding job aides.
  • Analyze data to identify operational trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and help manage WD&RM OPEX budget.
  • Coordinate information sharing and learning opportunities within Work Development and Resource Management.

 

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor Degree in a field of Business or Engineering.
  • In depth knowledge of legacy systems including: STORMS, Powerplan, SAP, P6 etc.
  • Working knowledge of database development, Power BI/Tableau
  • Working knowledge of Electric project delivery processes.
  • 7+ years' experience with minimum of 3 years of experience in an Electric Utility
  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills including human resource management, negotiations and communications.
  • Communicates to the people affected by a decision on what's happening and is able to clearly articulate reasons for a decision.
  • Ability to provide guidance and manage responsibilities/obligations at a senior management level.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities; organized, detail oriented, able to make independent decisions with a high degree of confidence.
  • Understanding of the operations of the electric business or the strong desire to learn.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret information and analyze relationships among several parts of a problem or situation in order to clearly articulate the findings and anticipates obstacles and thinks ahead about next steps.
  • Understands policies and processes and demonstrates the ability to challenge existing processes and ways of working (e.g. taking action to avoid future crisis or create opportunities to improve existing practices.)

Salary

$119,000 - $140,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
