Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
The Department of Information Systems and Operations management at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a tenure-track position in Management Information Systems at the Assistant level, beginning in August 2024. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Analytics, or a closely related field. ABDs will be considered but must provide strong evidence that the degree will be completed prior to August 2024. Candidates are expected to have a balanced commitment towards teaching, research, and service. Teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate MIS and business analytics courses, as well as various courses in the Business Analytics master's program including Python. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching and a desire to contribute to the future direction of the MIS and MSBA programs as they continue to grow.
Experience Required:
Teaching, research, departmental, college, and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). **NOTE** If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to TT-Instructor.
Experience Preferred:
Demonstrated potential of high-quality teaching. Experience with data analytic tools such as SAS Enterprise Miner, Tableau, PowerBI, and Python are a plus. Applicants with a PhD or ABD in MIS, Business Analytics, or a closely related field from an AACSB school will have priority consideration. Scholarly Academics (SA) per AACSB standards are preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to teach introductory and advanced classes in Information Systems and Analytics. Ability to actively engage students in learning activities.
