Management Assistant

This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent will provide managers and other staff with support to further advance the performance of local programs and operations. Specifically, the incumbent will assist and provide back-up to the Administrative Officer (AO) or Field Support Specialist (FSS) performing a variety of administrative management services and duties as direct assistance to management.Qualifications:

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-05, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Establishing and maintaining office files to include handling various types of documents and databases in order to meet deadlines; AND
- Using office computer program, such as Excel, Word, or PowerPoint; Google.
OR
You may substitute education for experience as follows: 4 years of study above high school from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, or university;
OR
You may qualify with a combination of specialized experience and related education.
Note: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
Advancement to positions up to GS-5: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
