You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Managing a Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) process required for information technology investments; Developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating current or projected complex IT programs to design and prepare evaluative reports on new and existing initiatives, recommending effective operations consistent with overall IT portfolio and Program objectives; Conducting studies designed to identify potential improvements in the way information technology is applied to key business functions; Applying federal legislation and policies for information resources management, such as the Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA), E-Government, and performance management regulations and policies, such as OMB Circulars A-130 and A-11, and the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996 (CCA), also known as the Information Technology Reform Act (ITMRA) and the Government Performance and Results Acts (GPRA).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
