Pay Schedule XII, Grade 2M: Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week

A vacancy exists in the Department of Recreation and Parks.

A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below.

Current and future vacancies occurring in any Office or Department of Baltimore County General Government may be filled from the list of eligible applicants.

Proof of licenses, certifications, and/or education must be submitted with each application.Under general supervision, performs advanced professional and supervisory professional fiscal, administrative, and analytical duties. Supervises administrative staff.

  • Formulates, executes, and controls operating and grant budgets for special events and special projects working in conjunction with department's fiscal administrators and recreation services staff.
  • Assists with securing and administering grants and partnerships.
  • Prepares grant application submittals.
  • Serves as a liaison between the grantor and ant the department.
  • Monitors grant expenditures.
  • Assists with having grants approved by the County Administration and County Council.
  • Supervises, coordinates, and conducts administrative and management studies and surveys.
  • Researches, analyzes and reports on a variety of informational, operational, and management issues.
  • Coordinates and compiles various data and other statistical reports.
  • Assists with department's CAPRA accreditation and compiles data for accreditation renewals
  • Represents the department at meetings or on committees.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration, public administration, economics, or a related field.

Plus

Four years' experience performing professional fiscal, administrative and analytical duties.

Additional experience involving the analysis and evaluation of budgets, systems, policies and procedures, organizations, and programs may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years for the required education.

Education in business administration, public administration, or a related field beyond a bachelor's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Proof of Licenses, Certifications and Education
Applicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application, which includes answers to the supplemental questions. Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes.

Employees hired after July 1, 2022 are required to participate in the Baltimore County Employees' Retirement System, with very limited exceptions.

Physical and Environmental Conditions
The work of this classification is essentially sedentary. Some positions may involve occasional travel between work sites.
