Performs all mammography examinations and related diagnostic procedures according to written departmental protocol, as requested by physician order unless modified by radiologist's direction. Requires competency in the use of a dedicated mammography system. Knowledgeable of all required MQSA quality assurance monitors, mammography quality control and other regulations.

Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge:
- Must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist (or eligible) in good standing with the ARRT.
- Work requires a complete understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, radiation protection, principles of radiographic exposure, and mammography positioning which is normally acquired through mandated mammography-specific training and education.
- Must be certified as a Diagnostic X-ray Machine Operator by the State of Indiana.
- Registered Mammographer (ARRT) preferred or must be obtained within one year of employment.
- Responsible for maintaining licensure and registration and for accruing 12 (Class A-credit) CEU points annually (5 per year must be Mammography related) and submitting documentation to supervisory staff.
Minimum Experience:
- Must be a graduate of an approved Rad Tech program and be ARRT board certified or eligible; must pass examination within first 90 days of employment.
- Previous Mammography training and experience preferred.
- Cross training into Mammography will meet all required criteria as mandated in the FDA/MQSA regulations.
