Duties
- Perform mammography exams on patients using X-ray and other medical imaging equipment
- Position patients correctly and ensure their comfort during the procedure
- Follow established protocols and guidelines for mammography exams
- Operate and maintain mammography equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret and evaluate mammography images
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed
- Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Provide patient education and support, answering any questions or concerns they may have
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Mammography Technologist
- Experience in performing mammography exams, preferably in an ER or diagnostic imaging setting
- Proficiency in operating mammography equipment, as well as other medical imaging modalities such as PET scan, CT, and sonography
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to mammography
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and guidelines accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
