Roles & Responsibilities:

The Special Procedures Technician / Mamography Techinian performs mammography studies as per MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) protocols and procedures, and all relevant duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                             

  1. Performs mammography studies as per MQSA standards.
  2. Completes assigned cases in IDX-Rad.
  3. Maintains assigned rooms in order and properly stocked.
  4. Notifies the Mammography Supervisor and the Technical Administrator of any equipment failures and other concerns.
  5. Prepares mammography rooms for all procedures (i.e., needle localizations).
  6. Documents findings relative to calibrating sterotactic equipment on the checklist. Informs Supervisor, Attending Radiologist and/or the Technical Administrator of all concerns.

Returns all equipment used for calibrations to the designated storage area


 

 


 

 

Requirements:

Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology

 

Experience Requirements                                                                                                                 

 

0-2 Years of Interventional Radiology Experience Preferred

 

Licensing and Certification Requirements (if applicable)                                                           

Name:  N.Y. State Dept. of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist
