Celebrity chef Makoto Okuwa is adding Colorado to his lengthy culinary profile.
Okuwa, who has made several appearances on the Food Network's "Iron Chef America" with his mentor Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, is opening his first Colorado restaurant, Makoto Vail, at the Grand Hyatt Vail for the upcoming 2023-24 ski season.
The server is responsible for providing the guest with a positive dining experience through
excellent product knowledge, strong salesmanship skills and a positive attitude. The rate of pay for this position is $11.40/hour, plus tips. The Retention Bonus is to be paid out in $500 increments after 30 and 60 days.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Service guests according to Makoto Restaurants Company as outlined in the training
manual
Explain menu items to a guest using thorough food knowledge
Sell wine and beverages through knowledge of the product
Ring in orders on the Aloha POS system
Maintain accurate financial records of the shift, including all discounts and comps
Maintain cleanliness of work area
Complete daily and weekly side work
Assist in all positions of the restaurant as necessary
Complete additional tasks at the direction of management
ACCOUNTABILITIES
All guests must be dealt with in a manner consistent with our standard of providing quality
product and services. All actions must be taken with the guest's best interest in mind, so as to
continue to build new business and to avoid customer complaints. All server expectations as
defined in the training manual must be met at 100%
