Makiaj is seeking a dynamic and organized Studio Manager to join Makiaj as an Independent Contractor. The Studio Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing our full-time staff and Makiaj Ambassadors. With a flexible work schedule that includes both in-studio and remote work, the successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading the sales and booking process, coordination, studio management, staffing for in-studio bookings as well as weddings and overseeing our team of Ambassadors. Beyond managing day-to-day sales and coordination, this role plays a vital role in driving revenue growth bridal and non-bridal sales. This role involves expertly navigating Makiaj's booking systems, coordinating bridal services, and ensuring an exceptional client experience. The Studio Manager will also contribute to revenue growth by converting inquiries into bookings, actively engaging with clients, vendors, and planners, and upholding the professional image of Makiaj.

Responsibilities:

Bridal Sales (30%)

  • Take the lead in transforming inquiries into bookings, focusing particularly on bridal sales.
  • This role is the first line of contact with clients, vendors, etc. that are interested in booking with Makiaj and the ultimate responsibility for converting those inquiries to bookings through expert communication, follow-up and providing all necessary materials to solidify the booking.

Bridal Coordination (30%)

  • Oversee all bridal bookings from booking through the wedding day.
  • Coordinate handoff between you and the sales specialist.Act as the primary point of contact for the bride, bridal party, planner, etc.
  • Ensure all contracts are signed, deposits/invoices/balances are paid, bridal trials are booked, and timelines are created.
  • Provide support to Artists staffed on the wedding day.
  • Keep all relevant systems up to date.

Booking & Client Management (15%)

  • Manage bookings, cancellations, and modifications.
  • Adjust and block out online calendar for bookings accordingly.
  • Create timelines for weddings, work with planners/clients and allocate artists needed for weddings.

Office Operations & Efficiency (15%)

  • Support company operations by maintaining office systems.
  • Maintain office services by organizing office operations and procedures, preparing payroll, controlling correspondence, designing filing systems, reviewing, and approving supply requisitions, and assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
  • Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
  • Design and implement office policies by establishing standards and procedures.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
  • Keep management informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports; summarizing information; identifying trends.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.​

Management & Support (10%)

  • Provide specific Makiaj support with 24/7 availability remotely.
  • Weekly office management support.
  • Provide expert problem-solving and insight to all administrative areas.
  • Oversee email/phone operations and guarantee a 24-hour response for all clients.

Work Environment

This job operates in a work from home office primarily with the ability to be in studio when
needed. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop,
smartphone, photocopiers, shredders, and filing cabinets.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use manual dexterity to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools and controls, and reach with hands and arms. This individual is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file and lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position can require the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite or work from home. The schedule is determined based on work, set calls, etc. We anticipate that this manager will plan their day and work the hours needed to complete work assigned. The hours are not set in stone; because it’s anticipated that there may be occasional evening and weekend work as needed, especially during bridal season.
