Job Description
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Completion of fiber route optimization studies
- Coordination with pole owners & foreign attachers
- Participate in joint-use ride outs
- Right of Way and RR permitting
- Analyzing power/telephone poles for Make Ready Engineering, Value Engineering analysis of pole attachment data, and pole loading
- Maintain project production needs for detailing Pole Data Reports through mathematical analysis to reach a new "proposed" communication attachment
- Data entry of mathematical analysis for wire attachments into set/standardized spreadsheets
- Critical assessment of whether fiber optic routing should remain aerial or underground using proprietary company knowledge for design team
- Timely and detailed communication with management and employees to ensure timely and efficient completion of jobs, proper notification of issues, and accurate documentation of process
Work closely with design team to coordinate pole application permits and design changes per pole analysis REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE - Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Make-Ready and structural analysis, specific to utilities and/or telecommunication
- Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Flexibility to work shift differential hours
- Strong understanding of NESC communication and electrical pole spacing standards
- Strong ability in Spidamin/Ocalc and GIS
- Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
Valid Drivers License with clean driving record NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Professional Engineer (PE) license
