The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining functionality of all equipment, as well as the physical maintenance of the building to ensure optimal efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have PLC knowledge as well as experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

Duties & Responsibilities: This position will be responsible to ensure that all machines are running and all processes are in control and running to standard.

  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment or parts & clean/lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
  • Operation Monitoring – watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machines are working properly
  • Meet with the Production Manager on daily events
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of machines and processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Perform grounds keeping services, such as landscaping and snow removal.
  • Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties.
  • Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
  • Cleaning inside and around machinery on a continuous basis.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines, ancillary equipment, and the facility to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, buildings systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate & adhere to all current and future PM programs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machines and systems, aid with equipment installations, and identify and implement improvements in a timely manner.
  • Purchase machine components and set-up supplies for departments.
  • Lead others by example and ensure that all co-workers follow safety procedures.
  • Log all maintenance activities and repairs
  • Follow all safety requirements and programs.
  • Required to stay over or come in early when requested by Management
  • Required to attend meeting/training set by Management.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Good mechanical aptitude and solid numeric skills.
  • Accuracy and awareness of details with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to inspect and repair machines or systems & to determine the proper tools and equipment needed to a accomplish the repair including the use of rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and make decisions by analyzing information, determining causes of operating errors & identifying complex problems to evaluate options and implement the best solution..
  • Able to work with minimum supervision with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to dismantle devices to access & remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand & power tools.
  • Ability to plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
  • Good communication skills – must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English and communicate effectively with others
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • 3 years injection molding experience, a plus
  • Ability to service, repair, adjust, and test machines, devices, moving parts and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms/legs & moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping & handling of materials
  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • 90% production floor presence and 10% spent ordering parts & maintaining KPI information.
  • Work will be in a shop area consisting of injection molding machines that produce heat, hot plastic, oil and water. The plant floor will be active with people performing work and hi-lo traffic.
  • Good attendance and ability to work overtime and weekends when circumstances and workload requires, as assigned by Management
