Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance/EHS Manager is a member of QAFs leadership team, responsible for maintaining efficient and productive operations of the plants equipment and facilities and for maintaining compliance to environmental and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (But not limited to the following)
  • Facilities & Equipment
    • Develops, implements, and monitors preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all production machinery, plant equipment, and general facilities to ensure optimal uptime and accurate operation.
    • Implements, tracks, and reports KPIs such as machine uptime, OA, etc.
    • Manages the company's CMMS.
    • Prioritizes maintenance work requests and assigns work to the maintenance team as required.
    • Makes documented recommendations for repairs, replacements, upgrades, and discontinued use of equipment.
    • Participates in the divisions Capital budget planning process including cost justification efforts.
    • Develops and/or updates SOPs applicable to the maintenance team, QAF's equipment, and general facilities.
    • Is responsible for the company's LOTO program and procedures.
    • Determines the need for outside vendor support and makes contact as required.
    • Is responsible for cost reduction and cost containment efforts for maintenance of the facility and equipment.
  • Environmental Health and Safety
    • Leads all EHS efforts, with the support of the QAF team and subject matter consultants to ensure conformance to all city, county, and state regulatory requirements.
    • Responsible for EHS related data collection and record keeping as required.
    • Responsible for ensuring compliance to regulatory reporting time requirements.
    • Is the POC for audits from EHS related regulatory agencies.
    • Develops and/or updates SOPs applicable to the plants EHS activities.
    • Co leads, in partnership with HR, QAF's Safety committee and safety efforts.
    • Responsible for QAF's safety training efforts using internal and external resources as needed
    • Ensures proper handling and storage of chemicals used throughout the plant.
    • Is responsible for cost reduction and cost containment efforts for EHS related activity.
    • Performs other duties assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees in the maintenance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent required.
  • 5+ years' experience in a maintenance or mechanical repair role required.
  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing facilities maintenance or engineering role preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience directly supervising others.
  • Previous experience with EHS and safety programs in a manufacturing setting required.
  • Experience with forging equipment preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience with a CMMS required.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Good communication skills with all levels of a manufacturing organization.
  • Proven leadership ability as a change agent.
  • Strong program management ability.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, customers, and outside service providers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply intermediate mathematical concepts and to apply mathematical operations to activities related to maintenance and EHS activities.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
