The Andover Housing Authority (AHA) is seeking qualified Full-Time Maintenance Working Foreman.
The incumbent is expected to oversee and perform routine and preventative maintenance of the Andover Housing Authority's entire housing portfolio of 274 units. This position has management responsibilities covering a wide range of duties of overseeing maintenance staff, contractors, and any additional help to assist with maintenance and repair work and the operation of equipment and vehicles. Must be a self-starter and detail oriented. Required basic skills in a variety of trade classifications, such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, janitorial, and groundskeeping. Must be on call and live within a 20-minute response time. Computer literacy is required. Ability to operate motor vehicles, move heavy objects, and lift and carry items up to 75 pounds work in a variety of conditions and locations. Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools. Knowledge of blueprints and sketches, specification sheets, schematics, technical documents, standards, building maintenance practices, and principles. Oversight of Capital Improvements and Modernization Projects, Massachusetts CAPHUB Program and General Laws Chapter 30B Bidding and Procurement rules and regs desired. This is a 40-hour position with benefits. Retirement is through the Town of Andover Retirement Office. The starting salary: is $36.07 per hour. The wage rate is determined by the current Department of Labor (DOL) wage rates in effect at the time of hire, and/or collective bargaining agreement with the Teamsters Union Local 170. Additional compensation is paid for on-call and after-hours service. Excellent benefits package included. Must possess a valid MA driver's license and be insurable under Housing Authority insurance. The selected applicant must be able to pass a criminal background check (CORI), and pre-employment physical.
