Job Location/Shift: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, and will be located at Lake of the Ozarks State Park, 403 Highway 134, Brumley, MO 65017. The shift is Monday - Friday (five 8-hour days per week), 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (1/2 hour lunch break). Shifts may vary with the time of year. This position may require working some weekends, nights, holidays and special events, etc.

What you'll do:
- Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
- Employees work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities, grounds, and cemeteries.
- Grounds maintenance including mowing, trail work, leaf removal, tree bucking and felling, and fireline construction.
- Routine cleaning of cabins, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
- Assist with natural resource stewardship activities including exotic species control and prescribed fire.
- May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair. (Education may be substituted for experience.)
- Must be able to walk long distances on uneven terrain in all kinds of weather and environmental conditions and have the ability to lift 80 pounds
- Must complete MDC Level 1 Fire Training
- Knowledge in a variety of trade areas including: grounds maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.
- Skill and ability to operate tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
- Skill and ability to operate a chainsaw.
- Ability to provide and follow directions.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical manual.
- This position may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate commercial operator's license, water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.
- Ability to communicate professionally with the general public, supervisory staff and co-workers.
- Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator's license.
- Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts.
- Available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays.
