What it takes to be a MAINTENANCE UTILTY OPERATOR with MEC:
- High school education or equivalent; advanced technical training or two to four years of Industrial Maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Ability to train, communicate, and work with others.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- knowledge of Database software
- Ability to problem solve
- Displays ethical behavior and acts with integrity

- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds
- work in high, precarious places; outdoor weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration
What you will be doing as a MAINTENANCE UTILITY OPERATOR:
- Diagnoses malfunctions in machinery and equipment and troubleshoots with/without the use of control prints
- Plans mechanical layouts for updates on machinery and follows projects through to completion.
- Designs and installs simple air and fluid system modifications and updates prints (where applicable).
- Recognizes and reports safety hazards on equipment and initiates correct actions.
- Follows lockout procedures and all safety rules in the facility.
- Handles and labels hazardous and non-hazardous chemical containers properly.
- Maintains good housekeeping in the work area.
- Calibrates systems and machine controllers (where applicable).
- Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Performs, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
- Has basic knowledge of AC and DC motors, controls, and power systems.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Other duties as assigned
