The Maintenance Janitor performs a variety of preventive maintenance tasks and responds to service tickets under the direction of the Facilities Manager. The maintenance tech provides a safe, orderly, and sanitary environment. Daily duties are performed indoors and outdoors during all seasons in all types of weather with a variety of conditions, such as extreme heat and cold. The maintenance Janitor's work hours are 8:00 am-4:00 pm but are subject to change based on the building's needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
Below is a list of duties assigned to this position. While these duties describe the scope of the work, they do not include all responsibilities that may be required. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Utilize approved methods of internal communication (for example cell phone) as soon as the day starts. This allows for efficient building operations. The maintenance tech is expected to act and respond to prioritized and escalated requests made by the Facilities Manager.
• Responsible for routine and general cleaning and maintenance of the facilities (cafeteria, elevator, gymnasium, classrooms, hallways, stairwells, offices, other rooms, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.). Sweeps mops, buffs, burnishes, strips, and waxes floors, cleans carpets, collects, and disposes of accumulated trash, scrubs, cleans, and washes windows and walls.
• Maintains the cleanliness and repair of restrooms, and reports leaks and non-working sinks, toilets, and urinals to Facilities Manager.
• The maintenance tech helps identify areas and equipment that may need attention or repair and reports materials and supplies that need to be ordered and do repairs on them.
• Ground maintenance includes landscaping, lawn mowing, raking and removing leaves, cleaning and removing snow and ice (utilizing a shovel, snow blower, and ice melting agents) from walkways, steps, driveways, etc.
• Performs basic painting when necessary.
• Maintains clean mechanical rooms.
• Follows all safety rules company rules and regulations self-motivated.
- Reports to the Facilities Manager daily at the end of each shift to ensure facilities are performing as expected.
- Performs other duties as assigned. The maintenance janitor might complete other tasks Pastor and/or Facilities Manager assigned as needed.
- able to do repairs with minimum supervision. LIGHT DUTY ELECTRICAL, HVAC, PLUMBING, PAINTING PLASTERING DRYWALL CARPENTRY.
- able to kneel crawl lay down go on ladders and lift 40-50 lb.
