A Day In The Life Of A Maintenance Technician
HomeRiver Group is looking for a solution oriented problem solver to join our Maintenance Technician
team in the Property Services Group. We are looking for a results driven, skilled technician who can
perform a variety of general maintenance and repair work on residential single and multi family properties.
As our Maintenance Technician you will inspect properties, document conditions, itemize a list of repairs,
perform general maintenance/repairs (Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Carpentry, Painting, ETC.) &
diagnose, repair/install appliances. During inspections you will replace smoke detectors/alarms, carbon
monoxide detectors, notate/itemize specific work performed and time logged to ensure accurate records
for billing purposes. The candidate will be responsible for making needed repairs on both occupied and
unoccupied units on our client owned properties Lastly, you will work closely with coordinators to
maximize effectiveness and efficiency of resources.
Knowledge and Skills
● Demonstrated experience as Maintenance Technician.
● High level of critical thinking/problem solving skills to diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
● Self starter with ability to work independently.
● Ability to operate with a sense of urgency.
● Ability to manage time and projects to ensure completion in allotted time.
● Experience with repair and installation of basic light plumbing and electrical, appliances, drywall
repair, painting, carpentry, rekeying locks, and other general repairs.
● Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
● Ability to use an iPad and other technology as needed in the performance of daily tasks to
maintain schedule, accurate service ticket notes, system updates, inspections, etc
Education and Experience
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Prior experience in restoration, construction, maintenance/handyman industries preferred
● Prior inspection or rekey experience a plus
● A valid driver's license, reliable mode of transportation and automobile insurance are required
