Maintenance Technician

We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to join our manufacturing team as Facilities Technician. The Facilities Technician performs a variety of building maintenance and custodial tasks to maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform routine maintenance duties including but not limited to minor electrical and plumbing work, light carpentry, painting, moving furnishings/equipment and general building maintenance
• Perform custodial duties including but not limited to gather and empty trash; clean restrooms, offices, break rooms and public areas; sweep, mop, scrub and/ or vacuum floors
• Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies throughout the facility
• Complete cleaning and maintenance logs
• Schedule work priorities with supervisor on a regular basis
• Identify potential problems and perform preventative maintenance and repair work as required
• Respond to emergency situations, make immediate repairs as appropriate
• Contact outside vendors when further assistance is deemed necessary by supervisor
• Observe and implement appropriate safety practices while performing all duties
• Follow all applicable laws, codes and standards, safety and environmental regulations and Company policies, procedures, and protocols
• Operate pallet jack
• Conduct work in a professional and mature manner
• Securely, carefully, and appropriately maintain tools, equipment, furnishings, and Company property
• Performs other maintenance and custodial duties as required

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of experience in industrial or manufacturing environment
• Able to stand and walk throughout 10-hour shift
• Able to reach, pull and lift throughout 10-hour shift
• Able to regularly climb ladders and walk up and down staircases
• General aptitude for all functional areas of maintenance including: painting, carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing
• Willing and able to follow all safety rules and PPE requirements
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50 pounds multiple times throughout shift with weights occasionally reaching up to 75 pounds
• Occasionally work in outdoor environments in a variety of weather conditions
• Able to work independently
• Speak, read and understand English; bilingual Spanish or Portuguese a plus
