What You Will Do:
Maintenance Technicians ensure that a company's equipment and facility are in proper working order. Maintenance Technicians perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment and systems from breaking down. They also use reactive maintenance to fix equipment and systems when they break down. Experienced Maintenance Technicians have a broad knowledge base with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, plumbing, and ventilation.

What You Will Do:
Maintenance Technicians ensure that a company's equipment and facility are in proper working order. Maintenance Technicians perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment and systems from breaking down. They also use reactive maintenance to fix equipment and systems when they break down. Experienced Maintenance Technicians have a broad knowledge base with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, plumbing, and ventilation.
- Assist facilities maintenance staff in the departments of carpentry, painting, lock shop, theatre maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical with completion of work orders including gathering initial information, tools needed for the work, documentation, and completion of work order.
- This could include troubleshooting, testing, monitoring, and repairing mechanical systems, facilities, and equipment.
- Dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and assembling equipment according to layout plans, operating or repair manuals, and drawings.
- Perform equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineering.
- Use test and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot equipment problems and determine the best course of action for repair.
- Work with senior-level Maintenance Technicians to perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Scope of work would include inspection, calibration, and lubrication of equipment. Write procedures to document operations performed by Maintenance Technicians.
THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA MUST BE MET BY THE END OF THE APPRENTICESHIP TO COMPLETE:
- Apprentices must successfully pass/complete a minimum of 144 hours of employer-selected training courses that align with their competencies (either through relevant college coursework or other training - on-the-job-training does not apply to this requirement)
- Apprentices must complete 2,000 hours of work at their company
- Apprentices must obtain proficiency in 100% of their Technical competencies and 75% of their Career-Ready competencies in order to complete the apprenticeship
- Age: 16+
