Bishop Grady Villas is an Assisted Living Facility, and we are in need of a Maintenance Technician for repairs and general maintenance of facilities and equipment. Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
● Perform minor building, ventilation/air conditioning, heating, refrigeration; electrical; plumbing; carpentry; painting, and other generally accepted maintenance work as necessary.
● Develop and maintain a positive and effective relationship with residents, families, staff, administration, and other service providers and assist in coordinating with any and all their needs concerning residents.
● Develop and maintain relationships with vendors.
● Identify larger maintenance projects that need to be contracted to vendors and work with the Director of Residential Programs to obtain proposals, select the vendor, coordinate work, and supervision of vendors.
● Knowledge of city and state building codes, OSHA requirements, and ADA laws.
● Perform regular inspections per regulatory guidelines.
● Troubleshoot, service, and report mechanical malfunctions.
● Maintain inventory of repair equipment, tools, and supplies.
● Maintain a schedule and perform all regular preventive maintenance on Bishop Grady Villas campus and vehicles.
● Knowledge of the proper use and disposal of hazardous materials, safe handling techniques, and use of proper safety equipment as outlined by OSHA.
● Maintain facility Material Safety Data Sheets.
● Comply with safety regulations by reporting and removing safety hazards
● Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
● Respond to emergency calls during and after hours.
● Move and assist in the transportation of furniture and equipment.
● Set up and break-down equipment and furniture for functions.
● Understand and perform duties under the Bishop Grady Villas Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
● Be aware of and report any unauthorized person on the premises.
● General cleaning and disinfecting using approved solvents and appropriate tools.
● Maintain a safe environment for the resident; prevent harm to resident, self, and others. Report any safety concerns to management in a timely manner.
● Serve as a good role model to service recipients.
● Assist in training employees on simple home maintenance tasks such as plunging a toilet or changing a light bulb.
● Maintain current training and certifications as required by Magnify of Central Florida.
● Conduct all essential functions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
● Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
