ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY
Responsible for repairing and maintaining physical structure including electrical and plumbing fixtures as well as woodwork, floor and ceiling tiles. This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the Mission and standards of the facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Demonstrates commitment to Tabitha's Crew Code of conduct.
Provides daily routine maintenance such as; furniture moving, minor plumbing repairs, minor electrical repairs, furniture repairs.
Installs and repairs floor tile, coverings, base boards, ceiling tile, drywall and PVC wall coverings.
Installs, repairs, and maintains facility equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
Maintains daily assignment sheet to ensure proper charges to appropriate departments.
Communicates with residents and staff regarding work order schedules to ensure efficient operation of services to residents.
Provides "on-call" duties as scheduled by supervisor. Duties include answering all emergency calls to switchboard operator, performing daily equipment checks, providing emergency repairs as needed.
Participates as a team member to ensure that the department workloads and facility goals are met.
Participates in performance improvement/quality assurance activities
Demonstrates knowledge of department policies and procedures.
Performs tasks according to established time measures.
Follows all safety and infection control policies and practices of the facility and regulatory agencies.
Assures delivery of optimum service by reporting to work on time, as scheduled and/or providing appropriate advance notification.
Participates in personal and professional growth by attending mandatory inservices and scheduled department meetings.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor.
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Removes snow from walks, driveways and parking areas using snow removal equipment to prevent ice buildup and provide access to campus.
Performs painting duties as assigned by supervisor.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Valid Nebraska driver's license and good driving record required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
One year of experience in two out of six of the following: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, floor repair, furniture repair, heating/air conditioning repair preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to follow plans and instructions from supervisor, lay out the job and work independently and efficiently with materials and tools.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires scheduled weekend and holiday on-call duties. Can be injured by cuts from sharp tools and burns from hot pipes or from soldering equipment as well as burns from chemicals. Must be knowledgeable of, and follow, all safety procedures for position in order to prevent injury to self and others.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB
Physical stamina is required because sometimes work is done in uncomfortable or cramped positions. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Frequent use of: electrical power tools, pager, telephone
Occasional use of: snowblower, truck
