Overview
Works under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance. Performs basic electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry work. Responsible for the installation, maintenance ( preventive and corrective) troubleshooting and repair of facility buildings and equipment. Renovations to rooms and apartments. Work with other departments on special assignments. Subject to on-call coverage, shift changes and emergency 12 hour shifts (i.e. snow removal, hurricane clean up, etc. ). Snow removal/storm clean-up includes, but is not limited to shoveling and cleaning of entranceways, walkways and parking lots of snow, ice and/or debris. Assists with the clean-up of spills. Must be able to work for residents in independent living and assisted living.

- Assists co-workers with the care of their customers; addresses customer's needs regardless of assignment. Assists others to complete tasks when necessary. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a work environment that reflects performance improvement and customer service program in accordance with our mission statement.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision. Performs all work in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Performs general maintenance as required. Ensures work area is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize and accomplish assignments with accuracy and timeliness (meeting work schedules, work assignments completed by deadlines, receives minimal customer complaints). Patient complaints and/or concerns receive the highest priority and are responded to immediately.
- Maintains a safe patient care environment by consistently complying with RHS, DNV, CMS, State and other related regulatory standards to ensure the safety of patients/residents, visitors and staff. Follows guidelines for proper body mechanics, hazardous materials handling and universal precautions to prevent accidents and injuries. Maintains a safe work area. Responds appropriately as Protection to codes.
- Resident complaints and/or concerns receive the highest priority and are responded to immediately.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
- Program Graduate, Trade Training in HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical (Preferred)
Experience
- 2 years Maintenance experience (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Basic Computer Skills to complete required online training
Licenses and Certifications
- Universal EPA CFC/HCFC Refrigerant Certification within 90 Days (Preferred)
- Drives personal vehicle for RHS business 25% or more of the time to perform essential functions of the job
- Valid Drivers License Required
