Position Description
Applied Medical is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of equipment, facilities, and systems within the organization. This position involves a combination of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing Routine Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnosing Issues: Identifying problems with machinery, equipment, or systems, and determining the root cause of malfunctions or breakdowns.
- Repair and Maintenance Work: Executing repairs, replacements, or adjustments on faulty components, parts, or systems to restore functionality and prevent further damage.
- Following Maintenance Schedules: Adhering to planned maintenance schedules to ensure timely servicing of machinery and equipment, reducing the risk of unexpected downtime.
- Documenting Maintenance Activities: Recording maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections accurately in maintenance logs or digital systems for documentation and analysis purposes.
- Parts and Inventory Management: Managing inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities, ensuring availability when needed.
Within your first 30 days:
- Complete the onboarding and orientation process to become familiar with company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Shadow experienced technicians to learn about specific maintenance procedures and protocols.
- Familiarize yourself with the layout of the facility and the machinery and equipment being used.
- Begin performing basic preventive maintenance tasks under supervision, such as lubrication and inspection.
- Review existing documentation and procedures related to maintenance activities.
- Complete all safety training classes.
Within 60 days:
- Familiarize yourself with the various types of manufacturing equipment used in the facility.
- Gain proficiency in troubleshooting common issues with machinery and equipment.
- Shadow experienced technicians to learn about specific maintenance procedures and protocols for each type of equipment.
- Start performing minor repairs and replacements independently.
- Develop a deeper understanding of the facility's maintenance needs and priorities.
- Document maintenance activities and findings in a clear and organized manner.
- Confirm utilization management (UM) and preventative maintenance (PM) in the SAP system.
Within 90 days to 1 year:
- Independently perform routine preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs on machinery and equipment.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the facility's equipment inventory and maintenance schedule.
- Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and resolving a wide range of maintenance issues.
- Lead small-scale improvement projects aimed at optimizing equipment performance and reliability.
- Familiarity with system processes.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or at least one year of experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of electronics, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical components.
- Demonstration self-motivation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Displays proficient hand-eye coordination.
Preferred
- Possesses a minimum of one year of experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
- Capable of diagnosing and repairing diverse manufacturing equipment
- Demonstrates adaptability in varying work environments.
- Maintains awareness of surroundings for safety.
