Commercial Plastics is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician (Electro-Mechanical) for our manufacturing facility in Waverly, NE. Essential duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician (Electro-Mechanical) can include, but are not limited to:
- Machine troubleshooting; diagnoses problems and identified solutions
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
- Repairs electrical equipment
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs as needed
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
- Installs machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers
- Starts devices to test their performance
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, and fixtures and tools
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
- Fabricates and repairs equipment as needed
- Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
- Repairs and maintains support and facility equipment
- Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, controllers and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
- Specialty responsibilities in one or more of the following areas – pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, electrical, controllers or fabrication
- Actively participate in company’s Quality Management System
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment following safety procedures and policies
- Actively communicate with all team members as needed
- Comply with work requirements related to attendance and notice of absence, general conduct and following work instructions
- Monitor and communicate materials needed to support normal production activity
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician and Electro-Mechanical Technician
- Basic working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and plumbing
- Trade school associate degree or certification preferred but not required
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow instructions as assigned by supervisor
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible in work duties
- Capable of lifting and carrying 50 pounds
- Displays good communication skills in working within department and with other departments
- Ability to organize daily workload to accommodate extra duties or emergency jobs as required
- Must be able to qualify and maintain forklift certification
Required Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before small group of employees
Required Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Required Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
