Position Summary
Responsible for ensuring smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment to include installation of equipment, when necessary, regular services, preventative maintenance and the ability to trouble shoot equipment breakdowns. Advanced mechanical knowledge of industry machinery is essential. Responsible for assisting with installation, repairing wiring for manufacturing equipment as well as provide preventative maintenance associated with electrical issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performing daily preventative equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of pneumatic and Hydraulics.
- Performing troubleshooting on mechanical issues.
- Initiating equipment repairs.
- Performing detailed machine maintenance.
- Day to day coverage of production equipment - respond to breakdowns, and production requests, quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Experience and knowledge of plumbing and welding.
- Ensures work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Maintains accurate and timely records of maintenance performed.
- Complies with all Federal, State and local laws.
- Proficient in the use of power and hand tools.
- Complete work orders and record material utilized on job.
- Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment in regards to manufacturing.
- Remain in compliance with current National Electrical Code.
- Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switch gears.
- Complete work orders and record material utilized on job.
- Run conduit, pull wires/cables and wire termination.
- Run computer cables, connect computer jacks and plugs and test for adequate operation.
- Utilize blue prints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
- Survey electrical systems, circuits and plans.
- Understand and troubleshoot PLC.
- Shop organization and cleanliness standards put in place.
