Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance
Reports to: Administrator / Executive Director
Description: The Maintenance staff person is responsible for the care and
maintenance of the interior and exterior of the Community,
including equipment and furnishings.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, age 18 or over, 2 years previous
experience, general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, painting,
carpentry and general construction, ability to lift 50 pounds, DOJ
and FBI fingerprint clearances, health screening and negative TB
test (must be less than 6 months old and can be completed within 7
days of hire) and will comply with all Federal, State and Licensing
Regulations (Title 22 and Health & Safety Codes).
Responsibilities:
• Maintain department within yearly budgeted guidelines.
• Perform daily and emergency maintenance as requested and needed.
• Perform all general maintenance tasks to the Community’s structure,
equipment and furnishings that are not contracted out.
• Responsible for all apartment preparation of vacant rooms. This may include,
but not limited to, the following:
• Remove and replace drapes/blinds.
• Prepare and paint apartment.
• Paint and caulk bathroom.
• Shampoo carpets.
• Perform minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry as needed.
• Maintain the Community in compliance with a preventative maintenance
program.
• Working jointly with the Administrator, set up contracts with outside vendors
(landscaping, painting, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
