Position Description
This position is responsible for the proper storage, recycling and collection of all regulated materials used in our machine shop, such as machine coolants and oils, as well as maintaining our facilities to be compliant with environmental regulations, such as parking lot and materials storage maintenance.
Position Responsibilities
- Remove coolant from CNC machines and replace with recycled or fresh coolant mix.
- Recycle coolant using special equipment to remove oil and sludge.
- Empty catch tanks on metal chip bins to ensure proper drainage of coolant off
- metal chips.
- Operate evaporator to reduce coolant and mop water to sludge for proper
- Manage coolant and oil supply.
- Ensure compliant handling, storage and labeling of all coolant, oil, and designated
- waste materials.
- Perform daily and weekly inspections on overflow containment and chip bin
- coolant tanks
- Perform periodic storm water drain and lot inspections as directed
- Responsible for spill prevention, minor spill cleanup, assisting in large spill
- containment and incident notifications to management.
- Perform preventative maintenance on various machines as needed
- Assists Maintenance and Environmental Manager with projects as needed
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' experience working in the aerospace industry
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Basic experience either in a production or machine shop environment.
- Must be able to take verbal and written instructions and follow documented work
- Basic math skills.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
- Highly organized, self-motivated and can work independently.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.

Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry:
Regularly: Up to 20 lbs
Occasionally: Up to 40 lbs
Lifting assistance required: Over 50 lbs
