- Move dies, die components, and materials to and from the shop floor to the Tool Room using a forklift
- Organize the mold storage area, putting dies and trim dies into its designated space
- Complete assembly and disassembly of dies under supervision
- Understand and use die manuals to assemble dies correctly
- Use simple measuring tools and operate tool room equipment (e.g. drill press, band saw)
- Be able to safely address simple issues that arise in die cast machines including changing cores, cleaning of dies and die components as well as de-flashing the dies
- Complete die repairs as needed
- Perform trim die repair and maintenance
- Make simple die components and fixtures
- Remove hung castings from dies on Die Cast machines.
- Responsible for troubleshooting electrical control circuits and repairing and maintaining all electrical systems in the facility
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed
- Responsible for repairing gas fired and electrical furnaces and making sure they are properly maintained on a routine basis. You will also be repairing transformers, buss bars, water tower, pumps, and compressors as needed.
- Responsible for troubleshooting electrical control circuits and repairing and maintaining all electrical systems in the facility
- Capable of assisting or repairing PLC hardware for Die Cast and other plant equipment
- Responsible to successfully complete all required safety training, including Lock/Out Tag/Out Training
- Maintenance Techs will also repair water cooling systems and plant air systems when required. Repair/rebuild all parts of a die cast machine, gear reduction units, and forklifts
- Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual
- Follow the requirements of the Quality Policy, ISO/TS system, and procedures and participate in the Continuous Quality process
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions in a timely manner
- Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and our company, including wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform other associated duties, functions or work as may be needed or assigned to continue the productive operation of the company.
- Knowledge of basic machine operation (lathes, drills, grinders, boring mills, rotary mill, vertical and horizontal mills) a plus
- ID/OD micrometer, depth and height gages, thread gages, all measuring/gaging instruments
associated with Tool and Die Maintenance and Repair - Must have a complete understanding in one or more of the following: hydraulics and pneumatics, PLCs, and electrical/electronic systems (single, 3 phase & low voltage control circuits)
- Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Must have some previous welding experience including arc and MIG welding
- Must be willing to keep up with changing technology

- Must be capable of lifting 50lbs, reach and lift moderately heavy parts – up to several hundred repetitions per shift
- Ability to stand on one’s feet, bend, and / or twist a minimum of 8 hours per day
- Must be able to ascend / descend stairs
- Must be able to sit, walk, climb, stoop and kneel
- 3 to 5 years Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Die Cast or Plastic Ejection Molding experience a plus
- Maintenance Technician requires a high school diploma or GED.
- A maintenance journeyman certificate or vocational/technical training is desired
