Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Manager/Plant Manager / General Manager
Job Summary:
Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment as directed by the Maintenance Manager or other Company facility leader in accordance with preventative maintenance schedule as well as emergency repairs and troubleshooting.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with company standards
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Assist in equipment and machinery implementation when necessary
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Rebuild pumps and other material conveying systems
- Provide basic service of tape machines, blowers, compressors and all related piping and valves
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Perform regularly scheduled Ready-Mix system clean-outs
- Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
- Make suggestions on equipment and machinery to improve Company standards, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
- Capture documentation, measures, and data recordings for repairs, equipment purchases, preventative maintenance and emergency maintenance
- Interpret data and records to help streamline equipment and processes
- Administer plant safety procedures, continued training on safety measures, best practices, and procedures
- Undertake activities of pest control as required
- Drive continuous improvement activity to reduce equipment downtime, minimize repairs and improve quality control standards
- Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and possible travel
- Maintain a clean workspace through daily housekeeping and cleaning following safety guidelines and Murco policies and procedures
- Use safety equipment only as directed and follow all safety rules and regulations
- Assist in general upkeep of office and production facility
- Follow all company policies and procedures
Minimum requirements:
- High school education
- 2 years experience in maintenance or similar environment
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems
Abilities required:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to walk, stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms
- Must be able to carry out tasks required in a safe and efficient manner
- Good communication skills
- Work well with others
