Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to perform preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance safely, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Experience with general HVAC repairs, pump and filter maintenance
- Solid painting, plumbing and carpentry skills
- Knowledge of basic electrical repairs
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are thoroughly and accurately completed
- Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to listen and communicate professionally.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Satisfies service requests per work orders, following company procedures
- Observes condition of general facility, mechanical room, and/or other areas and reports any unusual circumstances
- Repair/replace ceiling tiles, light fixtures, display boards,
- Services plumbing and electrical fixtures
- Checks locks for functionality
- Performs regular inspections of the building, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment
- Makes repairs and replacements as necessary with the approval of the Chief Facility Engineer and/or Facility Manager
- Inspects motor/VAV boxes for any needed maintenance or repairs
- On call for emergency duty
- Familiar with power, water, and gas turnoffs, clean-out traps, fire extinguishers and fire hydrants
- Assists in maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
- Ensures facility and property is neat, clean and free of trash and debris
- Attends all required instructional classes
- Assists with any additional duties as required by management.
- Must have valid driver's license.
