The Maintenance Technician will report to the VP Administration for all phases of general repair maintenance, physical condition of the property and the preventative maintenance programs of the property to the end that the property is maintained at all times in good physical condition with a stabilized fiscal operation.
Daily responsibilities consist of:
- Make recommendations for contract services and supervision of contract workers
- Ensure clean, curb appeal by painting, cleaning, removal of trash and debris on the grounds and other tasks related to the curb appeal of the property as needed and assigned.
- Grounds work (Other than duties assigned to a landscape vendor) as required which may include: mowing, weeding, snow removal and other lawn care and landscaping duties as assigned.
- Servicing of appliances, equipment, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- Perform minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry duties as needed
- Assist in managing preventative maintenance program(s) including the completion of appropriate forms to document PMs.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of power, water, and gas turn offs, clean out traps, fire extinguishers and hydrants of assigned properties.
- Maintain exterior lighting by doing regular inspections of all assigned properties.
- Repair of structural building wear and tear.
- Notify the VP Administration or designate of any potential maintenance problems and make recommendations of solutions to the problems.
- Event setup for FORUM Events Center as needed.
- Clean up thoroughly after work is complete.
- Ability to work on his or her own with only nominal supervision.
- Knowledge and observance of safety precautions and policy/procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge and be able to identify needs to promote a safe environment needed to protect the property and its tenants.
- Maintain a good rapport with other staff members as well as with vendors and tenants.
What do we need from you?
- A high school education or GED
- One year to three years of similar or related experience
- Valid Driver’s license
- Demonstrated knowledge and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work
- CAMT certification preferred
