The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining production and support equipment for plastics manufacturing processes. Core responsibilities include a systematic approach to troubleshooting equipment issues.
Responsibilities
Essential Jobs and Responsibilities

1. Accountable for personal adherence to all applicable Safety, GMP, Food Safety, and Plant Policies.
2. Complete a minimum of 2 Observation and 2 Near miss audits per month.
3. Communicate with incoming shifts issues that are resolved or need to be resolved.
4. Perform maintenance on Injection production and support equipment.
5. Troubleshoot and repair:
   1. Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
   2. Electrical and Mechanical equipment and/or program issues with Molding and all support equipment
   3. Punch and flow lining equipment
   4. Critical facility equipment such as compressors, process water systems and material delivery equipment
6. Read electrical and hydraulic print to perform required maintenance and service .
7. Install machines electrical, plumbing and interface with all other systems.
8. Troubleshoot issues with machine performance in order to maintain expected efficiencies and solutions to improve machines.
9. Grease and oil machines per maintenance schedule.
10. Operate floor scrubber and oil vacuum to clean machines and floors.
11. Identify oil leaks and determine if parts needed to repair leak are in stock.
12. Gather part information if parts need to be ordered.
13. Understanding Automation and test equipment.
14. Performing daily PM's and maintains the proper paperwork.
15. Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications

1. Basic understanding of industrial electricity and electrical safety.
2. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
3. Able to read and interpret written information.
4. Adapts to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected eventsEducation and Experience.

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Vocational Education School for Maintenance or a minimum of 1 year with similar experience (auto, marine, electrician or military maintenance).
3. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.Food Safety and GMP manufacturing environment.

• Work Environment

Regularly required to walk, lift and carry materials <35 pounds through plant in order to function in the job.
