SUMMARY: A Maintenance Technician performs maintenance and repair of bay and hangar doors. This position is contingent upon contract award.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position is located on base at Fort Liberty, NC
- Must be available for emergency calls after normal working hours
- Normal working hours are expected to be Mon-Fri. 0700-1600
- Perform general maintenance, inspection and repairs on bay and hangar doors
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The bay and hangar door technicians shall be fully qualified with a minimum of two (2) years experience working on various bay and hangar doors.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Basic computer skills
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Applied analytical skills to recognize when a specialized trade is needed for various tasks
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- Frequently required to stand
- Frequently required to walk
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
- Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally work in high, precarious places
- Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
