GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, testing, rebuilding and replacing equipment according to the company’s needs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and troubleshoot machinery such as cutters, conveyors, packaging equipment and programmable controllers.
- Replace damaged or broken wires, cables as well as mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of packaging machinery and equipment.
- Monitor, inspect and adjust conveyor belts for tracking and evaluate the condition of belts to provide the highest quality products using a best in class approach.
- Replacing electric motor and bearings. Experience in rebuilding drum motors is highly valued.
- Perform routine checks on motors and gearbox for undesired noise and vibration. Replace and re-wire squirrel cage & drum motors as needed. Perform continuity test on faulty motors to determine motor’s condition.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics during troubleshooting to reduce and minimize downtime.
- Capable to handle power tools such drills, impact wrenches, grinders, etc.
- Assist with installation of new equipment as needed.
- Perform work on utility equipment as required.

Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1-year previous experience in manufacturing, electrical, and/or mechanical applications. Previous experience will be an important consideration of assumed knowledge.
- SKILLS: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Strong analytical, logic, and problem-solving skills. Good oral, written and math skills.
- ADDITIONAL: Demonstrate ability to perform the tasks may be required as a prerequisite to the job. Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. Required to work independently and with limited supervision. Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable. Work in close relation with the other departments to make sure that any troubling equipment gets addressed before failure.
- Align, adjust, and calibrate a variety of sensors ranging from 24v to 120v to improve efficiencies and minimize spill points.
- Record repairs, calibrations, and Preventative Maintenance Inspections on Work Orders and worksheets. Must be detailed oriented.
- Perform mechanical repair work as needed. Sense of urgency is expected while performing the repairs while working safely.
- Welding and Fabrication skills are preferred.
- Any and all other duties assigned by your Supervisor.
Required Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school, or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In-house skills assessment will be provided to evaluate candidate’s skill level.
