Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to play a vital role in ensuring the effective and efficient upkeep of our facilities and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of operational excellence while adhering to industry guidelines and expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Maintenance Technician will be a key player in our maintenance department, contributing to the proper care and functionality of our buildings and equipment. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting regular servicing to ensure equipment remains in optimal working condition.
• Implementing effective screening and rodent-proofing measures to uphold plant cleanliness and safety.
• Installing barriers around work areas to prevent contamination of finished products.
• Collaborating with the plant sanitation supervisor to ensure new equipment installations meet sanitary requirements and are easily maintainable.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and blueprints with proficiency.
• Demonstrating expertise in 110, 220, 440-volt, and DC voltage electricity, including the wiring and repair of control panels, starters, disconnects, meters, and switches.
• Responding promptly to emergency breakdowns on any shift and demonstrating flexibility to work additional shifts as needed.
• Lighting, maintaining, and starting ovens and equipment.
• Ensuring a clean and orderly work area, including proper storage of tools and items.
• Providing relief to machine set-up personnel and assisting colleagues within the maintenance department.
• Climbing ladders and maneuvering around machinery to perform necessary equipment maintenance.
• Exhibiting attention to detail and contributing to a culture of safety and compliance with all policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Two to six years of relevant experience and/or training in manufacturing or distribution; food industry background is advantageous.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently.
• Proficient knowledge of electrical systems, including reading electrical drawings and blueprints.
• Flexibility to respond to emergency breakdowns on any shift and work additional shifts when necessary.
• Adherence to safety policies, GMPs, HACCP procedures, and color-coded container guidelines.
• Familiarity with AIB, SQF, and other relevant industry standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
