Maintenance Technician
General Summary
The Maintenance role is responsible for performing basic technical maintenance on machinery and equipment and assists other members of the Management Department in various machine/building repairs.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
- Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and building.
- Assists in repair of woodworking machinery changeover/installations, infeed/outfeed systems and hand tools.
- Orders supplies and parts as required.
- Performs preventive maintenance and program as scheduled including various maintenance equipment.
- Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities.
- Applicant should have significant troubleshooting skills to address all active alerts.
- Works with department personnel and team to coordinate project activities.
- Reviews activities and goals periodically to insure contribution to overall goals and objectives.
- Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Participates in safety & management meetings.
- Performs duties consistent with hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices.
- Prepares various reports as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications/Job Specifications
- The candidate will be part of project teams which are responsible for the successful launch of new equipment.
- The above will require production floor work and desk work.
- Support the shop management team during machine downtime situations.
- Determining weak spots of any automation machinery and operation to decrease machine downtime, minimize recurring issues & improve production efficiencies.
- Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and quality throughout.
- Discussing and solving complex problems with production and sub-contractors.
- Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering specialism.
- Participate as needed or requested in new machine launches, equipment installations & equipment integrations.
- Training the maintenance staff in electrical and control fields to improve their troubleshooting skills.
- Training production staff in set up the machines and operation automation machines.
Technical Skills / Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of electrical equipment and troubleshooting
- Advanced knowledge of controls
- Ability to understand electrical CAD drawings and blueprints
- The ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment, which includes being self-motivated and accepting responsibilities, completing assigned action items, and participating in a proactive manner in all team events
- Able to train maintenance employees
- Good problem-solving skills are very important
- Good interpersonal and communication skills required
- Fluent in Spanish Language, written/spoken is a plus
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Knowledge
- Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in warehouse maintenance.
- Background with CNC & PLC related machinery.
- Any relevant education with focus on automation
- Any other relevant education, experience and/or training will be considered a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
