Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Maintenance II Tech.


Location: Layton Parkway

Hours: FT


Job Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise vendor/contractors in routine maintenance and repair of facility


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
  2. Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
  3. Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
  4. Solicit bids and price quotes from vendors and contractors
  5. Supervise vendor/contractors in routine maintenance and repair of facility
  6. Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree preferred.


Experience:

  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC and use of tools in each specific trade.
  • Prior commercial building maintenance experience strongly preferred.


Other Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Possess valid Utah driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently, quickly, and efficiently.
  • Strong customer-oriented work attitude.
  • Knowledge, experience, and skills to perform basic maintenance projects.
  • Ability to climb, lift, bend, and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job


Performance Requirements:


Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  2. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  3. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.
  4. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Skills:

  1. Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  2. Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  3. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  4. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  5. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  6. Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  7. Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  8. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  9. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.


Abilities:

  1. The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
  2. The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  3. The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  4. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  5. The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
  6. The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  7. The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
  8. The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).



Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.


Work Environment: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.


Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
