THE POSITION

We are looking for a Maintenance Tech to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in our community’s success and are responsible for inspecting various equipment, performing basic repairs, and implementing preventative maintenance measures. With your previous maintenance experience and expertise in using hand and power tools, you’ll contribute to the seamless functioning of our facilities. Additionally, your ability to read blueprints and repair manuals will be essential.

THE HOURS: Monday – Friday 7:30am -4p with an every 4th on-call weekend rotation.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform facility system maintenance as assigned by supervisor that could include routine plumbing repair, routine electrical repair, changing of light bulbs, repair damaged furniture and fixtures, painting, cabinet work, removal of flooring, moving of appliances, snow removal and dry wall work.
• Be observant of conditions or practices (relating to our physical plant and maintenance equipment) which are unsafe.
• At times, could be asked to complete general maintenance type processes including but not limited to painting, cabinet work, removal of flooring, moving of appliances and dry wall work.
• Work cooperatively with other Departments including those in Activities, Nursing and Maintenance.
• Follow facility life safety code and equipment and be able to maintain these systems in good working condition.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have the ability to understand and follow safety procedures and precautions as they apply to maintenance functions.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds and carry 15 pounds with two hands.
• Must demonstrate ability to be energetic, enthusiastic, and creative in working with residents, family members and teammates.
• Must have ability to understand and follow task orientation and instructions, rules, and procedures.

• Be able to perform all job duties as required in a safe and ergonomically correct manner.
• Be capable of maintaining our physical plant, equipment, buildings, and property.
