PRIMARY PURPOSE
The primary goal is to ensure smooth operation and upkeep of machinery and equipment essential for the production process. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency within the facility by performing routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and executing repairs as directed. Additionally, the maintenance technician will contribute to preventative maintenance schedule, collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime, and uphold sanitation standards to guarantee the integrity of our products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues or signs of wear and tear.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules to ensure equipment reliability and minimize breakdowns during production.
• Demonstrate the ability to self-start and work independently, effectively managing tasks and responsibilities without direct supervision.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions to minimize downtime and maintain the smooth operation of the production line.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems to diagnose issues accurately and implement timely solutions.
• Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components or parts, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to prioritize maintenance activities and coordinate equipment downtime for repairs.
• Document maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts replaced, and maintenance tasks completed, accurately and comprehensively.
• Assist in the setup and changeover of production equipment between product runs, ensuring efficient transitions and minimal delays.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement in reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures, to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates will generally have the following education, knowledge, skills and abilities:
- MUST BE ABLE TO HANDLE AND WORK AROUND RAW MEAT AND BLOOD.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Working knowledge of food safety, food service regulations, health regulations and proper sanitation practices.
- Neat and clean appearance.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Good interpersonal relationships and ability to work effectively with a team.
- Good mathematical, multitasking, and computer skills.
- Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures, supervisor instructions and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
- Ability to work with flexibility in a continuous schedule of day, nights, holidays, and weekends.
