Job Title: Maintenance Position - Casper
Valid Driver License: 21 or older with 2 or less moving violations in the past 3 years or 19 years of age with no moving violations. No DUI or DWUI within the past 7 years.
Must be able to pass Family Services and
Criminal (DCI) back ground check and pre-employment screening.
General Description of Position: The primary functions of this position are general repairs and upkeep of vehicles and facilities as needed. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of standard handyman services such as drywall repair, painting, regular maintenance of plumbing, heating/cooling, and electrical systems, furniture assembly, mild-moderate carpentry work, vehicle maintenance, etc. Veterans and individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties of the Position:
1. This position requires that the employee read, write, type, speak and comprehend the English language.
2. This position requires that the employee report to work/training as scheduled, stay awake and alert during work/training, and follow company policy for arranging time away from work.
3. This position requires that the employee follow all policies and procedures at all times and as written unless official accommodation or dispensation is given by the Director.
4. Employees in this position will interact with colleagues and participants professionally and in a manner consistent with policy.
5. This position is required to be certified and able to perform CPR and First Aid. These components may include, but are not limited to, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
6. This position requires the cleaning of the work site which requires bending, lifting, reaching, working on hands and knees (any number of possible scenarios may be experienced) and working with and around cleaning supplies.
7. This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing or walking for the duration of a work assignment.
8. This position is required to be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted, and more than 50 pounds with assistance; and to complete repetitive physical motions.
9. This position requires that the employee maintain a valid driver’s license, maintain an insurable driving record, and operate any vehicle (personal or company owned) on behalf of the organization.
Other Expected Duties/Functions/Competencies/Results:
1. This position is required to operate a computer and required software effectively and efficiently including typing, navigation, and interpretation of electronic data.
2. This position is required to clock in and out for assigned work time as per company policy and methods of the data collection of the organization’s electronic timekeeping system.
3. This position receives written work orders or verbal instructions from the assigned Director/Assistant Director and/or Property Manager.
4. This position will identify, address and monitor NOWCAP Services’ facilities for any health and safety concerns.
5. This position cleans internal areas of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
6. This position paints interior and exterior walls and trim.
7. This position operates backhoe to dig trenches for water and sewer pipe.
8. This position repairs parking lot and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete.
9. This position maintains and repairs buildings’ plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.
10. This position repairs or replaces building brick, stone, and concrete.
11. This position maintains and repairs wood parts of buildings.
12. This position replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts in machines and equipment such as truck, street sweeper, and riding mower.
13. This position assists with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
14. This position requires the ability to prioritize tasks in order of importance and utilize time management skills.
15. This position requires the documentation of all completed work orders in a timely and clear manner.
16. This position requires that the employee possess a general knowledge and understanding of Medicaid, HUD housing, and ADA Standards.
17. This position will perform other duties in a manner which are generally expected and consistent with other similar positions.
Equipment Used: The employee may be required to use any of the following company-owned equipment: office devices, computer, vehicle, keys, cell phone, pager, etc. If the employee is required to use any specialty equipment they will be trained on its safe and appropriate use.
Environment Typically Encountered: This position will work in a variety of settings including indoors and outdoors, be exposed to periods of hotter and colder temperatures and varying heights including working on ladders and roofs. Environments can also vary in the level of stimulation and noise.
Certificates/Licenses/Registration/Education/Experience Required:
1. This position requires a valid driver’s license and meet underwriting standards set by the company insurance carrier in order to operate any vehicle (personal or company owned) on behalf of the organization. Failure to maintain minimum driving tier (underwriting) requirement may result in adverse impact to the employee.
2. The employee must present upon hire documentation to meet the requirements of the federal I-9 form. If any of those documents used expire, i.e. driver’s license, then current documents will be required to satisfy the requirement of the I-9 and subsequently maintain employment.
Training Requirements:
1. Each employee will be required to complete as per company policy all training required at the beginning of their employment and on an on-going basis throughout their employment.
2. Each employee is required to attend all new-hire training and certification courses as well as on-going scheduled training and recertification courses.
3. If the employee is assigned as a trainer of a specialized class which requires certification they will complete all requirements to maintain that certification.
