Job description

 

Accountabilities

·       Accountable for Providing Leadership in Support of the Safety Journey and the Company’s Goal of Achieving an Injury-Free Workplace

·       Accountable for Continuous Improvement in Workplace Safety by Promptly Addressing the Root Causes of OIIs or Near Misses, Conducting Effective Safety Meetings, Promptly Addressing Safety Concerns Raised by Employees, and Leading by Example

·       Accountable for EHS Compliance, Quality Policies and Procedures compliance including FSP principles as applicable, and Environment Policies, Programs and Good Practices and maintains required records for all of these areas. Is familiar with the plants’ FSP program and how it applies to his/her job.  Maintains records as required.  Is trained and reviews/understands the plant's critical control points of scalping catches, magnet catches, Understands the importance of the FSP program as it pertains to the quality, legality and safety of products. Is instrumental in the documentation of equipment repair/inspection and isolation of downstream equipment to minimize contamination.

·       Ensures adherence to standard Maintenance Excellence Work Processes (MEWP)

·       Ensures compliance with corporate standards (e.g., financial, code of business conduct) and adherence to company policies.

·       Screens and ensures appropriate information has been captured on the work order. If appropriate information has not been captured, returns work order to originator.

·       Examines jobs to be done and determines scope and best way to accomplish.

·       Accountable for work order status on CMMS.

·       Accountable for work done by outside contractors including daily check-ins and supervision as needed.

·       Accountable for maintaining plant grounds in accordance with safety and QA standards.

 Responsibilities

·       Responsible for referencing equipment and technical information including blueprints and specifications and available CAD drawings.  Makes any additional sketches, diagrams, etc. necessary to clarify the intent of the work order. Engages engineering for work orders requiring engineering design.

·       Responsible for updating work order status in CMMS, documenting definition and estimates in CMMS, and maintaining the data in CMMS.

·       Responsible for giving conflict feedback to affected departments and contractors.

·       Responsible for reviewing and requisitioning materials needed and working with the Buyer and storeroom personnel.

·       Regularly analyzes backlog and maintains backlog file of work orders awaiting scheduling in accordance with their priority and requested completion date.

·       Tours work sites and reviews work with requestor.

·       Estimates skills, manpower, time, tools, special equipment, and materials needed.  Develops BOM & work process.

·       Responsible for evaluating documentation requirements (permits, drawings), and evaluating special equipment needs.

·       Responsible for Helping Control Maintenance Costs 

·       Responsible for Impacting Equipment Uptime

·       Develops and maintains planned job packages for recurring jobs.

·       Responsible for preparing and issuing daily work assignments to those under supervision.

·       Responsible for ensuring contractor work is completed in accordance with safety and QA standards.

·       Will fill in for Maintenance Supervisor when absent.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

 

 

·       AAS Degree in Technical or Business-related field or equivalent work experience.

·       BS Degree in Technical or Business-related field preferred.

·       Knowledge, mechanical, electrical, construction, and CAD preferred.

·       Desire 3 – 5 years experience in maintenance or construction.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

 

 


·       Demonstrates ability to effectively interact with hourly and supervisory workforce.

·       Demonstrates background knowledge of operating procedures and process.

·       Demonstrates working knowledge of MEWP.

·       Demonstrates working knowledge of overtime procedure.

·       Demonstrates working knowledge of MS Office, database applications, internet, and purchasing programs.

·       Understands maintenance procedures and processes.

·       Understands, in detail, the plant maintenance planning and scheduling process.

·       Demonstrates ability to accurately estimate manpower & time requirements to complete WO work.

·       Possesses knowledge of (some or all) electrical & control, mechanical repair, rigging, and job estimating.

·       Possess high level of organizational skills

 

Key Internal/External Contacts

 

 

·       Requires daily contact with employees in other departments.

·       Vendors, contractors, operating dept supervision and operators, Engineering. QC, Maint supervision, Mgmt

Special Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

 

 

·       Normal working schedule is daylight shift - flexible schedule.

·       Responds to urgent or emergency situations outside of normal working hours, as needed.

·       Works in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time.  May perform sustained manual activities at moderate to heavy levels of exertion including lifting and moving loads of a minimum of fifty (50) pounds, climbing ladders/stairs and working on elevated platforms.  Works and travels throughout plant environment of varied temperatures and humidity.  Wears personal protective equipment, as required and uses full range of motion.

·       May perform duties in confined space entries.

·       Works in general office and manufacturing plant environment. 

The expected salary range will be $70,000 - $92,000 based on prior experience.
