In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Emerging Technologies - Oral Finished Products facility in Durham, NC is a 194,000 square foot tableting and packaging facility that supports the production of our innovative oral treatments for patients with type 2 diabetes. The Position
Assist with the development of a reliability-based maintenance strategy, based on preventive & predictive maintenance. Plan & coordinate maintenance jobs & projects.
Relationships
Reports to Manager, Fac, Util, Sys Equip (FUSE).
Essential Functions
- Maintain SAP master data & maintenance plans for assigned processes
- Prepare PM work packages for maintenance technicians to include required documents, parts & specialized tools
- Process confirmation of PMs
- Work with logistics & operations to schedule planned maintenance activities
- Evaluate the effectiveness of preventive maintenance tasks & frequencies
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance tactics & strategies
- Review work orders to identify recurring failures
- Supports & actively participates in event response activities for the process. Documents problems & works to bring them rapidly to solution
- Document review to include Non-Conformity (NC) support, Change Request (CR) support & SOP review
- Participation in plant Closedown Team planning & execution
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case by case basis based on the role.)
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in related field from an accredited university or equivalent industrial, military, or vocational training required
- Minimum of three (3) years maintenance experience required, preferably in a(pharmaceutical environment
- Knowledge required in at least one of the following systems required: compressed air, steam, chilled water, pharmaceutical utilities, fermentation, sterilization, water purification & packaging
- Excellent maintenance craft skills preferred
- Knowledgeable in fundamentals of reliability excellence preferred
- Excellent computer skills preferred to include SAP & Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to demonstrate a systematic approach to problem solving & troubleshooting required
- Ability to think critically & sequentially with proven time management skills & attention to detail required
- Demonstrable experience with the planning of maintenance activities preferred
- Excellent communication skills required
