Nazdar's Manufacturing Plant is currently in search of a Maintenance Mechanic to join their maintenance team. This individual will need a basic understanding of some, or all the various systems found around the building. This would include HVACs, MAUs, Production Equipment, Material Handling Equipment, and Power Distribution Equipment. This individual will be responsible for assisting with building construction and remodeling projects. The associate will also be responsible for assisting and serving as the backup to the other Maintenance Mechanic in installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems for Nazdar inclusive of its Production/Manufacturing plant.
Shift schedule - 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday
Installs, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems of industrial machinery and equipment and physical structures by performing the following duties:
- Ensures operation of machinery, equipment, and facility by completing maintenance requirements following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Maintains and controls all specifications. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment dismantles defective component(s), and installs new or repaired part(s).
- Understands and has a working knowledge of voltages from 120V to 480V 3 phase.
- Understands and has a working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Assists with the design and installation of major equipment or building structures.
- Conducts preventive maintenance (PM) to ensure proper operation of machinery and equipment, through following detailed manufacturer recommendations and gained working knowledge. Steps could include cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and/or replacing.
- Conduct various building construction, remodeling, and maintenance projects. This will consist of framing walls, assisting with data and electrical installation, installing plumbing, hanging sheetrock, drywall work on sheetrock, painting, installation of interior doors and windows, installation of drop ceilings, assisting with lighting installation, and installation of various types of flooring.
- Performs general maintenance and building structure repairs including plumbing, painting, welding, electrical, HVAC, and/or general facility maintenance.
- Fabricating projects out of wood or metal which include the use of; welders, cutting saws, and grinders.
- Modifies or designs equipment necessary to meet production and product requirements.
- Uses computers and programs necessary to research and maintain accurate information and status of machinery, equipment, and facility.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Complies and adheres to all Company and regulatory policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Responsible for training other mechanics or technicians.
- Assists with other duties as directed by senior Maintenance Mechanic or maintenance manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of two years of manufacturing plant experience
- Basic understanding of HVACs, MAUs, Production Equipment, Material Handling Equipment, and Power Distribution Equipment
- Ability to work in an environment where chemicals are used in the process. Employees may experience exposure to chemicals by contact with skin and /or inhalation. Employees are expected to practice excellent personal hygiene to minimize exposure.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- stand and walk around the production floor for long periods.
- to reach with hands and arms overhead above shoulders
- to bend to retrieve containers and packages.
- to climb ladders to retrieve materials.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
