Maintenance Mechanic Technician
Salary: $25 to $34 an/hr.
Shift: All-1st, 2nd, & 3rd
Stay-on bonus: $2000!
Position Overview of the Maintenance Mechanic Technician
Under the direction of the Engineering Department and the Maintenance Planner, the Maintenance Technician will support the maintenance needs, both mechanical and electrical, of Operations and Production in standard conditions, including troubleshooting and repair, preventative and predictive maintenance. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing production/processing equipment to reduce machine-related downtime, eliminate losses, and improve machine reliability. The Technician should be able to work in a Team environment, working with all areas of the business to provide support, repairs, and solutions to various problems.
Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic Technician
- Troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment including motors, pumps, valves, agitators, circuit boards, VFDs, fans, blowers, etc. and a general understanding of air compressors, chillers, boilers, dust collectors, HVAC, and other utility equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, technical specs, electrical drawings, etc.
- Completes Work Orders in Maintenance Connect System
- Fills out all associated work performed on the requested work order.
- Provides time to complete the job.
- Inputs all parts consumed for job.
- Provides pictures and documentation of work completed.
- Completes Root-Cause-Analysis documentation.
- Troubleshoots and investigates reoccurring issues.
- Provides solutions to the Engineering Department
- Creates PMs based off of RCA.
- Performs all work in a safe and clean manner, performs Lock-out Tag-out procedure correctly when working on equipment, follows all safety procedures correctly when welding, cutting, polishing, reports food safety risks and abides by GMP standards.
- Operate heavy equipment including boom lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, lulls, etc.
Qualifications of the Maintenance Mechanic Technician
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Certification and/or Licenses
- Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Electrician, or equivalent.
- Licensed Sanitary Welder, Licensed Electrician
Experience- functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen of the Maintenance Mechanic Technician
- 2-3 years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance or Electrician role, preferably in the food industry.
- Understands Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all safety requirements with working on industrial equipment (LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, electrical safety, chemical safety).
- Understands the fundamentals of material compatibility, sanitary design, equipment drawings, general utilities (gas, air, electric, water).
- Familiar with the general names of parts, diagrams, equipment, etc.
Other Skills and HPO Competencies
- The candidate should be very detail oriented, have strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, demonstrate grammatical and organizational skills and must be a self-starter, who is able to work independently.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint, Word) required. Working knowledge of PLC, HMI, Work Order Systems.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs, work up to heights of 50ft, become forklift and man-lift certified.
