- Provides support for pre-press, printing, finishing and logistics.
- Conduct routine inspections of premises.
- Assembles, installs, cleans, and maintains machines in production environment.
- Ensures smooth production by good maintenance management (preventive, adaptive and corrective).
- Solves any facility-related problems.
- Assists in MDI, Hazard Alerts, and safety corrective actions.
- Manages spare parts inventory using Kanban system.
- Knowledge of PM scheduling system.
- Assist other Technicians in the repair and maintenance of printing press and finishing equipment in a safe manner.
- Complete monthly weekly and daily PM’s.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
- Handel basic repairs on equipment.
- Provide a timely, practical, and professional response to work orders, including the ability to communicate with press operators to understand and diagnose equipment issues.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on‐time completion of assigned activities.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues using technical drawings. (Blueprints and schematics).
- Follow electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools and test equipment.
- Install Diagnose and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, following manuals schematics and blueprints using hand tools and test equipment.
- Can use test equipment (multi-meter, laptop, micrometers, calipers, infrared guns, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting equipment problems.
- Have a general knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Can troubleshoot PLC’s and their inputs/outputs. Programming of PLC’s is not required.
- Lubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards throughout the plant.
- Maintains good housekeeping in the work area and maintenance shop.
- Be able to coach in a positive manner press operators and machine runners on the proper way to operate equipment.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Follow all safety policies and protocols.
- Requires strong problem-solving skills to assess product output relative to specifications.
- Must have ability to multi-task and to identify and execute process improvements as needed.
- One or more years of demonstrated experience in the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications.
- Understands Risk and Safety and Hazard and precaution Statements.
- Ability to work overtime when required along with regular, predictable attendance.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and vocational maintenance training certificate preferred.
- Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD’s) servo motors, servo drives and controls.
- Comfort working with 480 volts or less.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- General skills relating to the use of shop equipment such as drill presses, power tools, mill, and lathes.
- Electro-Mechanical studies strongly preferred but not necessary.
- Proficient knowledge of computers and operating systems.
- Requires physical ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull and use hands and fingers to feel and handle material for extended time frames.
- Must have ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly. Includes the ability to stoop, squat, crawl and kneel as needed.
- 3 years previous work experience, electrical or related degree.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow up skills.
- Present a professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to maintain focus while working independently.
